Admissions
Applications for Admission
Students admitted at the start of Year 7 will have been judged suitable for grammar school education under the Kent Selection Procedure. Applications should be made via the Local Authority who will then rank applicants in order of priority. In the event of the school being oversubscribed, the criteria detailed in our Admissions Policy will be used.
OPGS also have an additional Supplementary Information Form (SIF) to be completed if your son is eligible for Pupil Premium or is a Child in Care or has previously been a Child in Care.
In Year Applications
Students admitted at the start of Year 7 will have been judged suitable for grammar school education under the Kent Selection Procedure. Any Year 7 students applying for a place in Year 7 between September and December of that year will take the Kent Test. From January, those students will take the school’s own admissions tests.
For students in Year 8 and above, and those students applying for Year 7 who have not taken the Kent Test at their primary school, should apply for a place using the In Year Application Form (IYAF) and the Supplementary Information Form if applicable. Once these have been received the school will notify you if they have any spaces in that year group and the next available testing date.
