At OPGS, we hold firm on our responsibility to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, an exceptional standard of teaching and learning and a wider range of extra-curricular opportunities. We have high standards of behaviour and our pupils are ‘polite and courteous,’ contributing significantly to our consistently positive learning environment.
It is a real honour to be the Headteacher of this magnificent school. I, and every staff member, have high aspirations for every young person that attends our school. These high expectations are demonstrated through a broad and challenging curriculum, exceptional standards in regards to behaviour and attitudes and a commitment to delivering a wide range of extra-curricular and enrichment experiences. We are well known for our outstanding level of pastoral support and care. Our young people are well supported with their personal development but also challenged academically so that they can achieve to the best of their ability. Our outcomes at GCSE and A Level are exceptional and allow OPGS students to acquire the qualifications and skills necessary to take the next steps in their own personal journey.
Please contact the school if you would like to visit us and see for yourself.

Such a fantastic visit from renowned author, dramatist, composer and lyricist @willyrussell_official and the team from @bloomsburypublishing earlier this week who were here to award Ifan with his prize for winning the young writers Methuen playwriting competition. Ifan's piece, '212' was praised by judges for its vivid social commentary and authentic voice. As part of the prize our Drama students also enjoyed a Blood Brothers (one of Russell's plays) workshop from Stage-Ed. Such a fantastic day. Thank you to all involved.
