At OPGS, we hold firm on our responsibility to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, an exceptional standard of teaching and learning and a wider range of extra-curricular opportunities. We have high standards of behaviour and our pupils are ‘polite and courteous,’ contributing significantly to our consistently positive learning environment.
It is a real honour to be the Headteacher of this magnificent school. I, and every staff member, have high aspirations for every young person that attends our school. These high expectations are demonstrated through a broad and challenging curriculum, exceptional standards in regards to behaviour and attitudes and a commitment to delivering a wide range of extra-curricular and enrichment experiences. We are well known for our outstanding level of pastoral support and care. Our young people are well supported with their personal development but also challenged academically so that they can achieve to the best of their ability. Our outcomes at GCSE and A Level are exceptional and allow OPGS students to acquire the qualifications and skills necessary to take the next steps in their own personal journey.
Please contact the school if you would like to visit us and see for yourself.

Lovely to see so many parents and carers this evening for Year 11's final consultation evening. The journey to summer examinations picks up pace from this point with detailed feedback and areas for further improvement. We do enjoy having families in school; there is a real buzz in the school tonight. It's a good time for us to say thank you to parents and carers for their support over the years. We look forward to seeing you all again on Results Day.

A busy week at OPGS beginning with celebrating the achievements of 78 students who have completed their Duke of Edinburgh Award. It will be exciting to get more Silver and Gold Awards underway. Year 8 thoroughly enjoyed their Enrichment Day visit to the Science Museum, whilst Year 9 were fortunate enough to see a rehearsal for Romeo and Juliet at The Globe and took part in a acting workshop. The week was rounded off with World Book Day challenges in the Library.

We are delighted to share that we have submitted our plans for a new Sports Hall to planning permission. We have our fingers crossed for this process! As it stands, OPGS is the only grammar school in Kent without a Sports Hall. To get the go ahead on this project would be a huge step forward for this school community. Mrs Craig said "The staff and students in this school are exceptional. Our outcomes are exceptional. Exceptional facilities are the final piece in our puzzle. The school community deserves this." We will update the school and local community when we hear of the outcome.
